Prior to September 2017 I can say that we were a fully pro vax family. So much so that after my first son was born, I followed our pediatrician’s advice and asked that my mom get her whooping cough vaccine to protect my son.
Our son, James, had his one-year vaccinations that September. He woke up the next morning banging his head repeatedly into our hardwood floors, had red blood clots all over the whites of his eyes, was vomiting, had diarrhea, had a full body rash, high fever, was arching his back in pain and shrieking a sound I have never heard from any of my babies. Particularly James, who was just the sweetest, easiest baby.
Multiple calls and visits to our pediatrician, resulting in the same answer… This is all normal. Normal?! He went on to have flares with all of the above symptoms and over 105 fever every two weeks for almost 2 years. He was hospitalized once and I held him in my arms during a horrific seizure. We thought we were losing him.
None of this, absolutely none of this, was an issue prior to that September day that he received his vaccinations.
We have spent the last three years in constant research and efforts to help him.
We now no longer vaccinate any of our three children.
