Taylor M’s Story

I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy. One day my child didn’t move as much and he had a high heart rate. I was rushed for an emergency C-section. They asked all the questions, I said no to the Hep B shot. I know I did 100% but then they threw papers at me to sign after she plugged it into the computer and told me I didn’t have time to read them that they needed to get him out ASAP. So I signed scared to death for my baby.

My baby is out; he had a knot in his cord. That is rare but they evaluated my placenta and it didn’t have lack of oxygen nor infection so he shouldn’t of either. He was 33 weeks, most babies at 33 weeks only have breathing and feeding issues and that is all. He was fine when he came out and hardly needing any breathing support.

My husband rushed in and before he could even get it they were giving him the Hep B vaccine! It was to late we couldn’t stop it. We would’ve if we could’ve, my husband has no vaccinations we were and have been anti vax.

The night goes on. Then the next night doctors are rushing in telling me my baby started to have seizures (24hrs after being born) and had an ultrasound and they found a brain bleed. He got rushed to another hospital where he stayed 54 days mainly feeding issues. We got his diagnosis when he was a week old. He won’t walk, talk, eat, basically a vegetable they said. Thank God he is eating and didn’t need a G tube.

He also hasn’t needed a shunt yet, glory to God. But he does still have fluid (hydrocephalus) and is being monitored, as he might need surgery later. I have been researching and found a lot of article saying their babies (born healthy) had a stroke shortly after having the Hep B. Brain bleeds are extremely rare after 28 weeks gestation so Owen shouldn’t have had one and he never lost oxygen to cause one.

I am just in disbelief that this would’ve happened. We declined the Hep B, and now there is nothing we can do to prove it. This could affect and already has affected my boy’s life in many ways.

He is doing so well and defining all odds they put against him.  I pray he keeps hitting all of his milestone. I ask if you believe you will pray with me that what I’m pretty sure is a vaccine injury will not stand in his way to have the life he deserves.
